Man is finite, but love is infinite; and finite has no control over the infinite. — Abul Hassan Ali Hujwiri

Alḥamdulillāh ad infinitum.
Because even if we spent our entire life thanking Him, it would still fall short, way short.

When my heart came to rule in the world of love,
it was freed from both belief and from disbelief.
On this journey, I found the problem to be myself.
When I went beyond myself, the pathway finally opened.

Anonymous asked: Salaam. I really like someone, but she has intimated I am not perfect in terms of deen. I really want her, what do I do?
Wa `alaykumu s-salām
Well I am not married, nor have I ever been in a position where I have asked for a someones hand in marriage.
So she has turned you down because you’re not perfect in your Dīn? In my eyes this is beautiful. You really want her, and all that she wants, is for you to want God.
I’m not sure how old you are, and the inner workings of your relationship. But think about it from a logical perspective.
The first person that was created was Adam [alayhi s-salām] then Allāh created Hawwāʾ, but Adam [alayhi s-salām] spent a long time with Allāh alone, knowing Him, recognising Him, and seeking Him. Allāh could have just created Hawwāʾ straight away, but He didn’t. There is some wisdom in this, no?
I would advise that first you should know Allāh, only then will you know yourself. As a result you will then be able to grasp what a woman is, her essence, her status, and her true meaning. Then you will be ready.
You should respect her wishes, try what I have said. It might help.
May Allāh help bless us with pious partners. Amīn.
Warmest Salāms.
The intellectual is always showing off, the lover is always getting lost.
The intellectual runs away. afraid of drowning;
the whole business of love is to drown in the sea.

A fire broke out in a house where Imam ‘Alī ibn Husayn was praying ṣalāh, he was in sujūd (prostration). He did not raise his head until the fire went out.
When asked about this he said: “The other Fire (of hell) kept my mind busy.”

O Allah, make the months of Rajab, and Sha’ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadan.

one would be obliged not to disobey God
